The Cannes Film
Festival founded in 1939, is one of the world's oldest, most
influential and prestigious film festivals. The 61st Annual Cannes
Film Festival will be held 14 to May 25 2008.
The most prestigious
award given out at Cannes is the Palme d'Or for the best film. The jury of the festival, made of a
small international selection of film professionals, grants other
awards, including the Grand Prix, the
second most prestigious award.
